Hello, I'm working on raising the floor in the bow of my Ranger. I made hatch doors for the storage areas that were under the seats. I'm now wondering if I made the gap big enough between the hatch doors and the floor to fit the carpet in. Is there a rule of thumb in the gap size? I want it to be tight, but not so tight that I have trouble opening them. Thanks for any help!

Re: hatch carpet lid gap?

it all depends on the carpet thickness.....there is no rule of thumb.

you can allways take the doors off and shave a wee bit from the bottom if the rub.

but why are you raising the deck?

I added a fishing deck to the center portion that was open and had seats along the sides before. Older Ranger 375V. Doing a lot of restoration on it.
