hate to start this, oil injection good or bad

I was thinking about disconecting the oil injection on my 1989 130hp yamahas. is it true they only fail in the over oil condition? also will the added weight of premix affect the carb jetting or settings?

I understand that the oil injection systems on the yamahas are a very good system, Eveb if there was a problem I would suggest having it repaired! If it aint broke, dont fix it!!

I think that one of the benefits of oil injection on Suzukis and I believe also the Yamaha is that since they inject oil into the manifolds, not the fuel prior to carb jets, if your carb jet gets dirty or blocked your engine still gets oil and engine damage to due a lean condition is less. Personnally, I would make the effort to properly maintain the oil injection system. Most of the problems with Yamaha on this forum seem to be overoiling not under.

Yeah, what Jimd said. I agree 100%. I have oil injection on my Suzuki DT115 and it is great. Just another item to maintain, but worth it.

does the 1989 model also have it injected into the manifold? how do you test the low oil level warnings?

Is it true that the pump over oils when in failure mode? I believe Suzuki invented oil injection or was the first to introduce it back in the 60s/70s on motorcycles.

My question is. If you ask the same question 100 times will you get a different answer? My guess is that some people will stop answering the same question over and over. Yamaha oil injection system works. They feed oil differently and deliver oil into the intake manifold. They will only over oil.
