Hello all,<br /> you may recall my post about the intermittent spontaneous operation of the trim pump when the motor (Yamaha 2003 F115 4stroke)is not running. As a precaution I fitted a Perko switch to isolate the motor which so far I have had to use once as the pump just kept running. It is always down and I can stop momentarily it by holding any of the trim switches in the up direction but as soon as I release the trim switch the trim motor starts again, always down. The dealer is not being at all aggresive saying they can't reproduce the problem in the shop (I can understand that as it is totally random and unpredictable) but they just won't try anything. I have 3 trim switches; one at the front, one on the throttle and one on the motor.Does anyone have any suggestions for a test.proceedure? Are these switches interconnected, do they all have to be connected for any one of them to work? Can I perhaps disconnect each of them in turn and try to identify a bad switch or section of wiring? I tend to think it is one of the switches or a short circuit energizing the relay. or perhaps the relay itself. Are the up and down relays interchangeable? If I swapped them and the motor then went up at randon that would indicate a bad relay? Comments / suggestions welcome. Thanks...W
