Get the rpm down from what to what? Performance / efficiency is like planning a trip. In order to get where you want to be you have to know where you're starting from.

Running the calculations and assuming about 10-12% slip and assuming the speed is by GPS you may indeed be at the high end of your target rpm but that's better than being at the low end. But again, we can't assume.

Re: have a prop question

You could get yourself a tinytach;about $50 and easy to install. One for your motor will work on any 4 cylinder 2 stroke without regard to stator poles.

Re: another prop question

What year is the motor?I couldn't find it.
I have to wonder if the tach may not be accurate. There may be a selector switch
on the back note its position and rotate it a few times to clean the contacts.
With an rpm of 6300 your hole shot should be brilliant.Neck snapping.I think the typical prop on that motor is 17-19.You would need a 21 to get to about 5,500.Its possible if your boat is light and fast it could use a 21.See if you can varify the tach.

Re: another prop question

Your original post was about 15 posts down, so in order to keep all the information in one thread, I merged the two together.

Re: another prop question

We can probably assume the tach is accurate. If you go to a 21" pitch it will put your rpm at about 5,500-5,700. Probably close to 50.The 21s hole shot will be slower.
