HI,
I am using a 12 volt 1100gph submersible bilge water pump in a drian system in my garden. Ur is a cheapy but it does it's job well.

I have connected it to a small float switch and this is where my problem is I am sure.

When the pump is switched on the pump empties the small tank okay but doesn't stop when the water has emptied. It will run for a while then stop, the after a while start up again then later on stop and so on.

The float switch does not seem to be working as it is supposed to.

Doesn't stop/start when I lift or let it fall as if tank is empty.

Just not sure why it starts and stops after a few seconds then starts and stops again.

Any ideas please

Without knowing the style of float switch or brand of pump. Only suggestion I have is use a quality pump, a quality switch and a check valve on the discharge

Tank is empty and the pump still runs, I would say its the float switch
