Have Spark but won't Start! HELP!

I have a 1964 BigTwin Envinrude 40hp outboard. I can't get the darn thing running! It used to run great! It did sit for a little while. I checked to see if I have spark and I do. I don't know what other problem I could be having with this. Can someone Please help me with this??

You have let it sit and the fuel left in the carb has now clagged it all up ... perhaps. Always wise to fit new plugs but I suspect some carb cleaning is called for.

Read the item on outboards that have sat for a couple of years in TD's "topSecret File" pinned to second place in the index.

Check your carbs if it has been sitting they may be plugged or gummed up. Good spark but not firing usually means its the carb.

Did you use a spark tester ?? Did it jump a decent size gap ??
Have you done a compression check ??
Are the plugs getting wet ??
