Nice looking boat SCStriper, you need to give more info, length, hp ect. Is that a tilt trailer I see? It won't be long now and you will be after the big uns.

Good God NB, my ignorantism is on high tonight. You asked SS where in Va he was from and I thought " how the heck did he know SS was from Va?" Then I looked at the boat again....I'm such a dumb***** sometimes:D Hey SS, when you start catching the stripers let me know, been to SML once and loved it there, another reason for my resto. I know NB gets stripers from the Bay. Dale

I'm in Winchester. We keep the boat at Lake Anna but we do two weeks at SML every July :)

I grew up in a resort town on the Chesapeake so I'm a little more knowledgable when it comes to saltwater stripers.

wow that boat looks almost just like my 16' 1969 mariner.... even though if you measure it from tip to transom she is 17' 9" in length.... which is ok cheaper to tag..... I have a similar console..

Re: Have you seen a starcraft like this?

We have it's twin! We've had it in the family for 30 odd years and still use it quite frequently. I just joined this site to get all the info I can about the boat. In fact I didn't know what model Starcraft it was until I started snooping around this site. I'll see if I have a few pictures around to post. We only use a 20 Johnson (tiller handle) although this fall we are going to undertake a proper refit, redo the deck and outfit it with a 40 or 50 with all the controls and steering - the way it should be. What a solid craft though. Nearly indestrucible! We've had ours sunk twice! (I had to dive for the motor, although the fuel tank was like a buoy!)

Great site here - tons of great information

I woulda said 69 Mariner too. My uncle just bought one from a neighbor and it looks EXACTLY like the pic.
