Having trouble removing the bearing housing on the lower on 1984 OMC 5.0L outdrive

1984 OMC 5.0L. I am working the the piece behind the prop. I have loosened the bolts, have not pulled them out of the lower unit. I have moved the puller from slot to slot. Apllied a lot of tork and tapped(pounded) on the top of the puller. How hard should it be to pull this out? Any tricks of the trade I need to know? THX

Lake.....just a word of advice...

You already have a thread open regarding your motor. It's best to stay with that thread. Opening 2 threads for the same issue makes it hard to track your progress.
