HDTV question

Hi,
I recently read in a popular cruising magazine that the new hdtv televisions can receive good reception with only a small indoor antenna. I have tried regular t.v's in all my boats in the past using expensive marine antenna's and always had bad reception, usually can not find a channel that is viewable . We are about 50 miles from new york city and I guess that is the problem.
I have been lookng up indoor antenna's on the web and have seen some that people claim work really well, has any one tried this set up , I would appreciate your input.

Check out highdefforum dot com. Lots of great articles about antennas and whatnot. I think you can do an indoor ota, but I think you'd have to be within 30 or so miles of the broadcast signal. Check out the site, it'll give you better info than I can. G'luck!
