I'm planning on adding a small 7 inch HDTV (battery powered) to my pontoon. (We missed preseason football games)
I can connect an external cable type antenna. Just wondering if you guys had any experience in adding TV's and what type antenna to get since I have an all aluminum railing and fiberglass Helm.

;)

I've had one on my last three boats. You will need the round omni-directional antenna. No ground is required. Just try to get as high as possible.

Kinda hard on West Marine aren't you treker. I've enjoyed their products for nearly 40 years with no complaints. I've owned three of the TV Shakespeare antennae and numerous VHF antennae by them with no problems.

I'm not saying the Phillips is not a good antenna, but if you scan any marina you will see many more Shakespeare TV antennae than anything else.

No trouble. Just two different opinions. The more and varied inputs you receive, the better your decision making process.

Not giving West Marine a bad review just thinking they are over priced and think that you should start cheap and move up from there ,the main thing is the return policy, sending items back via Fex Ex, UPS and the wait time is a pain in the----you can get the Phillps in any Lowes or Home Depot. Try it and see if it works, if you really want a good picture then go with this my sister in FL has it and says it great
