He who hesitates...is stuck.

I've got a 91 Force 15hp that essentially runs like a charm. Yesterday, after a several month layover, I got her running again. She idles fine, and runs at full just fine, but frequently when throttling up from idle to full, there is a nasty hesitation in between, and she stalls often unless I torque the throttle quickly. This is something new, and I'd like to know if there is any particular most likely reason for this to be. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Check your throttle-stator linkage, DVM. Couls be sticking.

Good luck. :)

Your motor may be running too rich or too lean. Pull your spark plugs and check to see if they are fouled or if they are very dry. If dry turn the idle mixture adjustment 1/8 turn counterclockwise. If they are fouled try turning the adjustment 1/8 clockwise. You want to see a little bit of scumming on the plugs. Running motor too lean can cause engine damage from lack of lubrication.
