Dealer has installed the engine and leg and I have been taken this new rig out on the water.
When I adjusted one of my transducers I did see a quick connector being plapping in the wind between the lower leg and the lower gear box on the front of the leg.
My question is should I leave this or connect this and will the gearboix be full of salt water due to this not being connected.
I have been sdudying the engine manual but cannot find any reference to this!

To me it looks like a breather hose/connection for the lower gearbox, hence my question

That's the connector for the speedo. If you run a dash speedo you can use the pick-up in the front of the lower gearbox... Which dealer did the installation?

Thank You!
Checked the gear oil and all was good, no seawater in gear box!
I do not run a dash speedo , just a GPS through the electronics on the screen.

Did you end up with a 4.3MPI?

Yes I did and very happy about it as well, beautifull engine, just right for my tub!

ready to go for some Macks and tuna tomorow!
Got the Simrad NSE12 with Auto pilot,HD structure scan and broadband sonar as the new electronics and it is brilliant!

Looks very nice... I went out this morning for Tuna and macks... Got nothing. Lots of weed around to foul the lures though...

You're obviously not read this... from another thread I'm involved in... The 'Regal' referred to is 21'... (I've edited most of the crap out. Just leaving the BS :D)

So that Regal is 3200lbs dry plus fuel all your gear and batteries plus a full crew you will be pushing the limits. ... ... This is my longwinded explanation of that boat is underpowered and needs at least a 5.0 carb. That 4.3 is used in boats that weigh up to 1000lbs less and to me has no business on your subject boat. ....

No I have not read that thread.
This boat had a 1978 build and installed mercruiser 165HP (not even @ the crank) that still would do 30knts if pushed.
Now with the 4.3 MPI, it does 40knts @ 4400rpm and cruises @ 25knts @ 3000rpm.
Plenty of power for my 6.2mtr solidly build cabin fibreglass boat.

This boat is just amazing how it rides through the chop and with the Simrad Auto pilot system it has now become a genuine single handed fishing boat for trolling with outriggers pulling plugs and hard body lures!
Bought a propper new trailer for it that I modded with a full walkdeck and propper electric winch to pull the boat on every time in the correct position.
Lots of other alterations have been made to bring it up to the best it can be.

Looked like a nice day out there. How'd you go with the trolling? When would be convenient for me to come up and see the installation?

Any time that suits you, just tell me when.
I live very close to Ocean Reef marina!
Trolling went well once we were above Rottnest island and the weed beds, FADS were firing!!
