Could any of you gentlemen tell me the tell tale signs of a blown head gasket. Also on a 1990 60hp Johnson where are and how many heat sencors are there.
Bennett.... Poor compression on one or more cylinders could be contributed to a blown, faulty head gasket. You could also have water entering the cylinder.

The engine has one heat sensor, located in the cylinder head. Look for a TAN wire protruding out of the head.... that's it.
Bennett,

Gound the tan wire that goes to the sensor.

Also, look at your spark plugs. They should all look the same. If one looks real clean, you are ingesting water.
