I just was curious about head gaskets for marine engines. What exactly is the difference in a marine gasket and an automotive one.

Ayuh,.... Years back, car motors came with Steel shim head gaskets...

Marine head gaskets are Composite gaskets,....

'n now-a-days, so are automotive head gaskets...

I know the FelPro is a good alternative that is composite and / or stainless steel.

Ayuh,.... That statement is much to general to be true of anything....

It's Specific pieces that make car motors, boat motors....
