What is the best way to make my holding tank smell better? It just plain stinks like sewage. I've tried bleach and water. I've tried additives. Still, the odors still remain.
Despite changing out the holding tank altogether, are there any recommendations to get rid of the stank?

If it stinks all the time then may need to replace your lines, If it sticks only when you flush this is normal. If it is a slight odder then check your charcoal filter

Ive not had that problem but my first boat with a tank i read up alot to learn and from that i learned usually a leak or if no leak found the hoses were rotten. Also read that bleach is not good for the system.

I'd look at replacing the hoses, too. They do get permeated with the smell after many years. I fought odor problems with my Four Winns for as olng as I owned it. I'm real lucky with my Carver. The PO added a fresh water flush tank, switchable to raw water if I run out. I make sure not to run out. The difference between flushing with fresh water vs flushing with raw (and all the animal and plant life that comes in with it) is incredible.
