Heard Rumors AZ has the most Boats. OK is this True? Where are the Facts?
http://phoenix.about.com/library/blboats.htm
Always been Florida on total. Appears Minnesota per capita . . .
Forest county with a population of 7,700 had the most boats per capita with about 1 boat per 11 people.
Florida has tons of retired people that shouldn't go near a boat. Hell, they can barely drive a car.
That's one statistic you can have! The less boats I see on the lake, the more enjoyment I get!
What's really interesting... Hawaii, the only state completely surrounded by water is at the bottom of the list! Something does not seem right about that.
Pennsylvania has 350,000 registered boats and a population of about 12,500,000. That works out to about 1 boat for every 35 residents.
I did some research on boat ownership in Pennsylvania some years back and the numbers were interesting. Allegheny county where Pittsburgh is located had the most boats registered. Forest county with a population of 7,700 had the most boats per capita with about 1 boat per 11 people. Forest county has almost 75% of it's homes as vacation or second homes.
Forest county at one time seemed to have more divorces per year than residents. I found out that the filing fees for a no fault divorce were almost nothing and the lawyers from Allegheny county were sending their paperwork with runners to have it filed in their court house.
As always whenever you see a statistic it pays do some background infromation checking to see why some results seem to be way out of line.
