Tell me if my speculation is correct: Put boat in the water. idled away from ramp as I was getting rods and reels ready. About two or three minutes out, I got the buzzer. I shut it off and used the trolling motor to fish the park. It's a no wake lake regardless. I thought it might have been low on the oil in tank because I put a quart in a while back, but not too long ago. I bought another quart the next day and dumped it in. I normally buy it by the gallon, but the place that will fill an empty gallon jug (because it's cheaper) was closed. Anyway, the quart I put in it brought the tank to half full, so I wasn't low on the oil in the first place.

Went back to park next day and started boat, removed from trailer and docked it. It idled for the duration of me going and parking the truck. When I got in the boat and undocked, I geared it and idled away. Less than a minute, I got the buzzer. I did not even think to look at the PSI on the gauge, but I did look back at the pee hole and the flow looked good. I shut it off and fished with trolling motor again.

This morning, I got up and pulled the cowling and noticed the reserve oil tank mounted on the outboard was at the normal full mark. I hooked the hose ears to the lower unit and started it. I let it idle for about 15 minutes with no buzzer ever going off. The PSI was between 15 and 20. The pee hole didn't seem as forceful as I recall seeing in the past, off of the ears. I speculate that it's my water pump impeller, because the hose if forcing the water in. What do you think? And......... Ebay has my impeller for like $12-$19 or so. Should I get any other water pump part and replace as well, or will buying the propeller itself be enough. I don't believe I will need the housing. What do ya'll suggest? Thanks in advance

Well problem solved. I pulled the cover off the poppet valve, removed poppet, cleaned it, and reinstalled. It wasn't clogged, but a little gritty. I put it back together and ran the water hose on the hose fitting, flushed for a minute or two. I then put the hose on the ears, started, and ran the motor for about 5 minutes. After the whole day on the lake today, at idle, never got the buzzer. The tell tale had a little more force, and I was around 18 psi at idle. I guess a little bit of debris had gotten into it. All good now.
