I have developed a leak at the neck of me hx. It doesn't matter what cap. I have called out to have it replaced with a new one. Now would this issue cause air to get into the system as I think it would.

not enough expansion volume would cause air in the system. the expansion volume should be 6-8% of the system volume. many marine HX's rely on a puke tank because that is a cheap band-aid fix vs a proper expansion tank on the top of the HX

the impeller is clockwise !!!!!!!!!!!! correct... looks good ..but you should change it ... use a new impeller and use a silicone brake grease to put on the rubber impeller...just a coating on it ....
