I was looking for a forum like this!
I am a disabled former construction laborer and I enjoy my free time fishing/boating on nearby Lake St. Clair in SE Michigan.
I purchased a 1983 16 foot Sea Ray boat with a Chrysler 45 on it in October of 2009, my first boat!
A friend & I set her in the water only once last year as it was late in the season and I found out that my shifter, motor & electrical needed attention so I put her in storage through the winter.
This Spring, I took the boat to a local marine repair shop & he put a new seal kit in it, installed a new water impeller and fixed the shifter issue for a very fair price.
This week, I hope to install new tail lights and rewire the bow & stern lights to a 3 gang panel switch as the wiring & switches on this boat are a real mess!
I am so excited to get her in the water as soon as our weather cooperates a bit, we have been getting a lot of rain & the temps are stuck in the 50's, but this is also a great time to redo a few things to make our boating experiences both safe & better.
Very nice to be here in your forum & I look forward to corresponding with members, helping each other & sharing our boating experiences.
