The helm seat for my Grady White 1976 (Dolphin) finally gave way. Its configured opposite of new models. The seat is mounted on a molded box (factory)that used to house the oil reservoir. the female mounting is mounted upside down inside of this box, and protrudes up through the box. the seat had the male end which obvously rested upon the female. GW doesnt make it that way anymore and told me "good luck". Today I tried to take the female mount ( the "cup" and aluminum plate inside the box)out of the box, removing the eight thru bolts. But something else is holding it in place, from inside the box I see nothing but the plate (and a board of wood between the plate and the ceiling of the box).<br />Anyone have a clue what would be holding it in place? Any suggestions to get my helm seat in place?
