Hey all, I pulled the bottom asssembly off my '66 110 to change out the water impeller. I'd just gotten the engine back from the mechanic & he told me to do this. Anyway, long story short, putting the bottom assembly back on I heard a pop & low & behold a gear in the shifting assembly has broken in 2 and now when I put the whole thing back together I can only get it to fall into reverse. Im assuming maybe I broke something internally? because I can manually turn the shaft that changes the gears.<br />It's just a simple F-N-R config. I can JB weld the gear, but the internal stuff has me screwed. can anyone help. I DO NOT want to take this back to the mechanic. He had the outboard for 6 weeks last time. Please help.
