help 1983 searay

hi guys i am trying to get some help here for a friend. he has a 1983 searay 210 with 350 chev/merc last season it runs great up to storage time. today he was changing marina so i went to take the boat for him i could not get on plane motor rev rev but the boat move slugish. what i notice there was a lot of water trailing behind as if the drive is not spinning right. he also change the tthurmostat and now the heat gage does not budge. any info will help thanks just trying to help a fello fisher man. <br />thanks

Bolo<br />Yes could be a spun prop. Is the bottom of the boat clean?? Is motor trimmed right?? anything wrapped on the prop??<br /><br />The new thermostat could be bad or gasket not installed right. Is motor getting up to temperature, is it head and block hot to the touch?? If it is hot them check wire to sendor and gage.

thanks guys for all the good info, what happen i dont know but the mechanic said the turmostat did not install good it was splashing water around so he has to take it out and file it to let it fit properly. also fix the trims, now the boat is running like sadam,lol. only one more thing the heat gage still not up .
