help 1987 50 hp , johnson milky fluid coming out

i was running my boat today and at wot the boat ran great,when i shut it down to an idle it acts like its starving for fuel,i see milky stuff coming out from the top carb what is it and why,the power head was rebuilt ,i put a used lower unit on ,i ran it last weekend with no problems

Hi fpctim<br />It's is hard to say. It sounds to me like just condensation mixed with fuel. This really doesn't sound all that uncomman, especially during break-in with extra oil. Maybe the float in that carb was set a little high?

Kinda odd. ??? <br />At any rate, watch it, and it should stop doing that soon. If not, it might be a bad lower bearing seal, allong with a bad upper water pump seal. It would be strange if both these seals failed at the same time tho...Very strange.<br />Water may be getting into the block from the exhaust port plate gasket maybee? just theorizin here, but some things I would check, as I have no clue iether.<br />Try to determine what the stuff is.Sounds like water mixed with oil. But this is two cycle, isn't it?

yes it is 50:1 mix,im wondering why its loseing power,its like this, im at wot and go to a slow speed it wants to die,i put the throttle back half way and its like at idle and then a power serg happenes and it picks speed up and like i sad this is at half throttle it does this in nutrel it dies

fpctim,<br /><br />You have problems. Most likely, water getting into the engine from somehwere below.<br /><br />You need to disassemble this thing again and find out where it is coming from.

Is any of this milky stuff coming out of the exhaust.<br />Take a spark plug out and look in the cylinder.<br /><br />I have seen this milky stuff you refer to.<br />I have it built up on the inside of my oil cap on the valve cover.<br />Only place I have seen it.<br />Didnt have any problems.<br /><br />It does sound like a fuel problem.
