I am going to look at a 1995 Grady White 263 Chase with twin Johnson 200's. I recently sold my bay boat in lew of purchasing more of an off shore boat. Includes electronics and trailer. What are some opinons on this boat? Ideas of value? Limitations as far as off shore fishing? I primarily fish out Freeport Tx, in the Gulf. Any and all input is appreciated. Thanks

I can?t give you an approximate value without seeing the boat and knowing what options, electronics, etc, are installed on the boat. Could vary from junk to maybe $25K. With new motors it could go as high as $35-40K

Your distance offshore is limited by fuel capacity. Those 200s are good motors but fuel hogs.

As a starting point, I like to check Buc Values. Then adjust for condition and extras. The market seems really soft right now, so the buyer should do well.

I think the service is free if you just want to check one or two prices. It's a service if you need to check more often.

But I prefer it to KBB or some of the other websites.

Good luck.

Thanks for the responses. I have only seen pictures but boat has GPS,Fishfinder, T-top, and the owner claims only around 300 hours on the motors. I've never owned a GW but what I've been told and read there about as good as you can get. Going to look at it this weekend. Owner said he would take $15,000.

Look it over very well. That's a pretty low price for a boat with only 300 hours on it and in good shape.

Don't like the idea of having only 300 hrs on 15 yro motors unless they have recently been rebuilt. If recently rebuilt then the price of $15K is getting real low.

Look very close at this boat because that price is about half of what one in nice shape is worth. I would get a professional survey if you are really interested. If it checks out to be what is claimed, then that could be a real good deal.
I've had three Gradys and they are built like tanks. Not sure if the 1995 has the SeaV2 hull, but they are better than previous ones, but they are all better than most other boats offshore. Can handle big water.
Biggest knock against older Gradys is wood rot in transom and floors. Mostly caused by attaching hardware incorrectly mounted, penetrating into wood cores. Check closely, can be expensive to repair. Once again, I would strongly suggest a licensed surveyor check it out, unless you are a savvy boat person.
