Hello,
I have a 2003/2004 225 Mercury Saltwater. Today while running to the gas dock she started to sound lounder and vibrate more than usual. Thought I might have gunk on a plug/in the cylinder and got her up to cruising speed and it did not burn off (as it did about 3 days ago). Seemed almost like a cylinder was missing. Took out the plugs, they were a little fouled but nothing terrible. The last plug I looked at had some corrosion on the bolt and around it when seated. I cleaned it up and put it back in but it still did the same thing.

Is there a way to clean out the cylinder with the plug removed?

I plan to replace all plugs tomorrow, but does anyone have any idea what this might be? An easy fix possibly/hopefully?:):)

THanks

oh yeah, and it normally tops out around 34 knots, tonight it would barely get to 30 knots...

Have you looked at the carbs?? One dirty main jet will cripple the top end on that, and a carb inspection will only cost you some time.
