local marine shop says i do not need to use bellows sealant on the u joint bellows or exhaust bellows. they say they never use any. when i went in to see if they sale it. they say install it dry not needed. also can the metal ring on the outdrive side of the ujoint bellows be installed without a driver tool? if so how thanks.

Find another shop, the BELLOWS IS GLUED on and THE SHIFT BOOT is glued on, Exaust boot/sleeve can be dry. A driver is the best way to install the ring. Heres a manual for it.

guess they need the work ,so they create some. they must move a lot of U joints and gimbal bearings.
