Help broken reed

Hi

Motor started playing up today, ie loss of power , spititng from carb and stuff

It's a 60 hp 1990 Johnson , I was cleaning middle carb and was checking the reeds and yep one is broken in half


What is my next step here I have to find the piece , how hard will this be and any hints or tips so I don't mess this up please

If the mtr still runs good after you replace the broken reed it could have been eaten up. Your next option is to tear down the mtr and look for the parts of the reed. I've seen mtrs swallow reeds before and it didn't hurt them. Your choice.

Pull the head and look at damage to the cylinders. If you see any then the block must be honed/reringed, or maybe rebored.
