Does the skirt on the face seal go into the water pump housing or does it press up against it after sliding it down? Im in the process and wanted to make sure, thanks!
NO, it does not go into the housing, only up against it and only at a certain pressure. There is a tool for installing it properly in the Merc impeller kits.
Last question, and I have this whole ordeal done. Do i absolutely need a shift shaft sleeve? I replaced the water pump and the shift shaft assembly and the only piece i seem to be missing is the sleeve (part no 23-67370)
Any help with that and Ill have all this done for the first time thanks to the help of these forums. Thanks!
