Help finding an OMC manual....

OK I'm ready to spend the money for the OMC repair manual. The help here is good but the problems I'm running into are gonna take forever to get all my questions answered. I am not a mechanic but I feel I could do all work myself giving the right information. So if anyone knows where I might find a manual for a Johnson Javelin 85ETLR78C please let me know. I already looked on ebay with no luck.<br /><br />Has anyone used the Seloc online? I know there manuals are talked about here as being wishywashy, but if its a good information source I could have some info I need instantly.

I just bought the Seloc online and Info I need does not show up It does have a lot of info but I would advise to call and see if you can get a look see before buying.<br />I'm now looking for a OMC manual

You can get OMC manuals from:<br />kencook.com<br />theoutboardwizard.bizhosting.com<br />maxrules.com<br />marineengine.com<br />If you want to see what a Seloc manual is like, I suggest you see if your local library has one.<br />I don't see any for you on ebay right now either.

Thanks for replies. Got my sister who works at the library (wink wink) to check into getting me some books. Don't think its gonna be a johnson repair manual though, which is what I need. You are right Ken Cook has all manuals from parts to repair. Repair manual is about $55, that said,I am looking else where for now.

I would also get the parts catalog for your engine...the breakdown on all the parts and OMC numbers makes the original shop manual that much better.

Don't bother with the parts manuals anymore. <br />BRP has put them online back to '68. <br /><br />Check it out:<br /> http://www.evinrude.com/en-US/Accessories/Engine.Diagrams.htm <br /><br />The factory manual are well worth the extra $20.

Now, if they'd put all the older parts manuals online, too. Frustrating. I did get my local Johnson dealer to let me photocopy his copy of the parts manual for my '58. Nice guy...and helpful.
