help finding engine model 1150 115hp blue band mercury

i can't seem to find the engine serial number which makes it very difficult to find the year model so far i have found the serial numbers for most components, the 1/2 block serial number i found could be from 1970 - 72 but the water jacket cover serial number said it was the 1980's i have found the serial number 4751544 which could be for the engine but i couldn't find anything online and most websites said there would be a letter number combination. any help would be awesome thank you.
And also where i can find a manual to purchase would be helpful also.

As mentioned, the cowl is newer. 1978
