Shade.... Model #50528 is a 1962 V/4 75hp Evinrude. It's safe to use the 50/1 fuel/oil mix in that engine, and use HiVis 80/90w lube in the lower unit if its a standard shift, Premium Blend Type "C" if it's a electric shift. Champion J6C spark plugs will work best, set to .030 .

Joe Reeves
I have a 1987 9.9 johnson sailmaster with a decal on the side saying 100/1 oil mix. I have been told that Johnson changed this to 50/1 shortly after, can you give me any info on this.

Gary

GF.... That 100/1 mix was something OMC came out with by using silver coated bearing sleeves etc. It turned out to be something that one wanted to avoid. Stick to the 50/1 mix and feel safe.
