Hello,

Well, I have a situation with my '89 Force 125 outboard. I was out cruising the lake at some high speeds with my friends hitting some nice waves and getting some nice air for about an hour or so letting my friends take turns driving. On the way back in, I took the controls over and noticed that the throttle was acting all weird and it was hard to move back and forth. Weirdest of all is that the idle was very high, like 2500 rpm. I tried puting it in neutral and finally got it in and the motor started revving higher. It would not go down. The throttle lever was getting harder to move back and forth. I shut the engine off and tried to move the lever back and forth all the way down and back all the way in reverse to see if something got bound up and tried to restart it. Nope, same thing. It would start up and race higher and higher up past 4000 rpm.

Whats the problem??????? HELP ME!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!

Lee

Howdy lirimB. Your problem is probably in the "throttle box" controller. Disconnect the shift and throttle cables at the engine and see if the engine mounted mechanisms work properly.

Red sky at night. . . .
JB
