Are you saying that you were having trouble with initial startup and now she won't start at all? Were you pumping the fuel primer bulb until completely firm and holding in on the key primer while cranking on cold start-up when it was eventually starting before?Sorry for any confusion ,I'm just trying be clear on your issue.

it has started from holding the key in like you said, when that failed to work, i turned the red lever, to by pass the primer and it started that way, now no matter which one i try it turns and will not start. my batteries read at 12.4volts is that enough to get it to fire

Best way to determine whether you're getting fire is to perform a spark test at cranking speed. Each lead should jump a 7/16" arc to ground with a crisp blue snap.Otherwise the battery reading should maintain 9.5 -10 volts while cranking if it's charged sufficiently.Furthermore,if the engine eventually would only start by operating the manual red prime lever on the side of the fuel solenoid, the electrical solenoid coil may be defective. You should be able to at least test whether the solenoid will operate from the key by turning the key to the 'on' position and pushing in on it while listening for a 'click.'
