help hooking up my tach?

So I got this new, never used, yet out of package tach when I bought my boat. here are the pics:

So I want to hook it up to my 83 2-stroke 115hp evinrude.

On the back of the tach it says, for 4 cycle OB w/ alt.

Well, I dont have a 4 cycle, I have a 2
and I dont really have an altinator, I have that them there stator.

Will it still work?

And for reference-

Ground is the negative on the battery?
send would be the gray wire on the harness going to the contorller?
and ign would be a purple wire on the controller correct?

and which setting should I have it on?

Set the arrow on the small dial to 6P.

Purple wire from Ignition A accessories to IGN;

Black wire from ignition M to Gnd;

Grey wire from main harness to Send.

If you have a standard side mount control, it is pre-wired with a plug below the ignition switch.

You have an OB with alternator.
