I have an '89 Evinrude 15hp tiller on a 12 foot aluminum boat. I'm building a small side console for the boat and converting to throttle, shift, and steering control cables. My local dealer says they can do the work for me for $1000 but won't offer the part numbers. I having alot of trouble finding the part numbers online for the conversion parts/adaptors to do this. Evinrude/Johnson made all the parts necessary, I just need the correct numbers so I can start looking online to assemble all the parts I need for the job.
Can anyone help? Any dealers out there with the info? Anyone else done this before? PART #'S PLEASE !!

Re: Help ! I need part #'s !! Evinrude 15HP

For steering, I'm thinking of using a rotary helm if possible, U-Flex offers a complete helm kit with the cable and everything so if I can make one fit on my little boat, that's the way I want to go. I don't think I can fit a rack/pinion type helm in my small console. So, I guess I'm going to have to either install some kind of steering adaptor or maybe change my tilt tube?
Regarding shift and throttle control, I found a throttle control mount on the iboat store and was thinking of maybe using a two-handle, side-mount control since two handled controls are a little over $100 and the single lever controls are over double the price. Trying to keep it cheap and simple.

does your engine have the steering/tilt tube?

If not, you'll have to add a transon mounted steering tube.

its a pretty easy swap...
