Help I Ran A Saw Blade Through The Bottom Of My Boat!!

Yeah,,,,,

I'm restoreing a 89 Bayliner and have been ripping the floor out of it.

Well,,,today while trying to cut out a piece of flooring,,,,,I ran my saw blade through the bottom.

I now have a 2" slice through the hull on the bottom.

Any Pointers?????

Been there, done that.:redface:

It's best to repair from the inside.

Clean up the area thoroughly by sanding and using Acetone.

Lay in fiberglass mat/resin to seal the hole. The cosmetic part of the repair will have to be done from the outside.

It's really not a big deal if you have the deck out.

Ayuh,... No Big Deal,...

Fill it back in with the peanutbutter of Your Choice...

A piece of tape on the outside will get it pretty close,+ not let it run out...

If it's in area where you're going to be doing glass work later, like near the stringers or floor seam, then just make sure you cover it at that time. It won't have any affect on on the hull.

Thanks, It is in a place that is flat.

I was cutting out rotton wood and wet Foam when it happen. Where is the best place to buy some Gel Coat?

You can get small amounts easily, but don't worry about that now, wait until you're almost done and do all the cosmetics at one time.
