The "shifter" is more about the engine manf. than the boat manf. To replace the one you have, you're looking for a Mercury control. If you're looking to replace because the one you have is stiff, most of the time the control can be cleaned up and lubed, then new cables installed, to yield brand new performance.

The Binnacle had two lever, one for trottle and the other was shifter on my Merc 115 hp 2 stroke motor. I couldn't get used to it because my two other boats had a single binnacle. I ended up replacing the double binnacle Merc to a single Yamaha binnacle that included the motor.

Yes, most prefer the single lever type - especially those that have spent any time using a twin lever! The problem with buying a single lever with attached motor is the tendency to be more expensive.

I had a single shifter and changed it to a twin shifter.
Much prefer the twin shift.
Looks better works better.
