I have a boat built in 1956 I would like to get a capacity plate for it. HIN cfz6135tc656 does alumacraft sell them . I don't think they were used until some time in the 70s but I would like to have one either way. Thank you in advance for help

Jim, better off w a topic of your own

HIN starting w CFZ is a state (California) issued HIN and has no correlation to a year or a manufacturer. The 56 at the end does not mean a 1956 boat.

Asking Alumacraft wont help, as it isn't a factory issued HIN, and most, 95% +/- of manufacturers are of no help w old vintage boat details, old brochures or replacement HINs.

The assigned CFZ# is now legally tied to your boat, so it shouldn't be changed.

Garzon Studios online can make capacity stickers if you provide the details.

A local printing/engraving business may be able to make an aluminum capacity plate via a process called sublimation, printing directly on aluminum. You supply the details. Looks authentic w some printed details and engraved details.

Had a local shop print dozens of capacity plates based on the attached Feathercraft plate.

Everything in gray on the attached sample was actually blank, bear aluminum.

The Model, HP Capacity, Serial and Person fields/info were supplied by the owner and often were engraved which mimics factory stamping. Some preferred to get the plates w those fields empty and hand stamped the plate themselves.
.
Good luck and please remember not to post to old inactive topics. Originally this was in a 13+yr old topic w a no longer active topic starter.

Do you know which Alumacraft model you have? I'd be glad to help with I.D. if you share a few photos.

You can also e-mail Alumacraft they can give you details. They used to have a guy on staff that was considered a historian and gave great details but he is gone.
