Hello,
I have a 1986 25 H.P. Mercury. The prop on it is a # 48-19638 A40 11p. I understand this to be a 10 3/8" by 11 pitch. My question is, is this a RH(or clockwise) prop?
If it is a RH rotation prop, can I replace it with a LH rotation prop? I have found one marked
48.19640 A40L 13P. I think the L means its a counter clockwise rotation. I know the pitch is different, but the charts say its fine for my motor with a 13 pitch.
I just need to know if the LH part will work, and if I can just put in on my motor and go, or if I need to change something on my motor.
Also, are all counter-clockwise props stamped LH?
Thanks, Jeff

My opinion looking at your information, you have a RH prop and you won't be able to use a LH prop to replace it. The money to convert your drive system far out weighs the cost of a new/iused prop.

Pictures would help.....
