I want to replace the shift rod seal on my 68 Evinrude 6hp as well as the two fill screw seals for the lower unit. I have looked up my engine via the serial number here on iboats and came up with this page: https://www.iboats.com/shop/engine-parts/1968-Evinrude-6802R-Gear-Case-Parts.html
I am somewhat new to working on outboards. From the looks of the diagram, it looks like 22a is the part number for both the drain plug gaskets and 21 would be the shift rod o ring? I have watched the following video on replacing the shift rod seal (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o1UACm75VIs)

Looks like you have a good grasp on it to me. There is a seal kit that has all the gearcase seals that may make things easier. OMC 303339 or Sierra 18-2679.

I think 303339 is just the bearing housing gasket...

Thanks for the part numbers.
