What's funny is the paperwork says quicksilver which I can only figure they got that from the steering wheel which has that stamped on it. I have dug through fiberglastics website and the only reason I have doubts that it is a playboy is that the front is completely smooth and does not have any ribbing towards the bottom like in the picture. So I'm at a loss so far....

Thanks for that link! I'm fairly confident it isn't a playboy after seeing those pictures. The one I have has no deck or stringer's and just two bulkheads and single piece of wood across the back for the transom. Wondering if somebody did a body swap on this lol.

No Title

so after finding a link to someone that archived the larson archives (http://web.archive.org/web/20060614181742/http://larsonboats.com/extras/archives.asp) the closest match I can find is the 14' 59 Pla-Boy/Playboy Larson. If that is in fact the case there has been significant modifications since there are several discrepancies... such as the molded seats are more rounded than flat and the self-bailing transom has been cut out and back seat is completely fiberglassed in...the non-existence of the ribs/million bubble ride in the front.... the fact that there is no deck or trace of one having been there let alone stringers or foam. What are the chances that someone crafted boats similar to the playboy Larson? Or chances that there were this many modifications done?

Sorry you haven't had luck yet. I'm actually interested in that boat as my next project and would also like to know what the actual model is. I have searched and searched and the only boats I have found so far that are similar are the pla-boy and the all american 172 but neither are exact. If you can throw alot more pictures up of your boat. Maybe we can see some details that might help. Also how long is your boat?

I'll see if I can get some better pictures up of it to help out the search. Also measurements as I do see a lot of measurement info on the Larson archives which might help.
