Haven't been on here in a while, but need to ask for help please. I had a 1969 Valiant w/ 1969 Chrysler 70hp Magnapower outboard which I recently sold to a local gentleman/friend. Long story short, he (the gentleman) tried to remove the rotor from the shaft on the distributor not realizing the rotor is epoxied/glued to the shaft. (He was trying to check/clean/gap the points) Checked w/ Franz Marine for my friend and we can get a new shaft/rotor assembly for a decent amount, but my question is does anyone have a decent old 3 cyl distributor body, inclusive of the rotor & shaft, for sale at a cheap price? I keep getting involved with helping out since I sold the boat, but this is getting a little old and uncomfortable for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

I have a spare.. Depends on what "cheap" is. you want one of the NLA parts from it. It's low hours. I removed it from service 2 weeks after putting points in it because a snagged a good deal on an electronic one.

I also have a spare 4 cylinder one and the rotors look the same.

BTW if he didn't break the rotor. Glue it back on. I've pulled caps off and had the rotor fall off in my hand.

Thanks Merkurfan, but my neighbor was able to epoxy the rotor back onto the distributor shaft and after taking my advice and cleaning and re-gapping the points the ol' 1969 Chrysler 70hp fired right up. He and his lady are quite happy after taking their first little run up the creek in the Valiant...
