HELP Jack Plate Question

I don't know if this is the wrong forum or not. I have a 13 foot whaler with a low transom and I can get a steal of a deal on a 40 Yamaha with a long shaft but on the Yamaha the tilt is broken so I want to find a jack plate that I can manually tilt it and it will raise the motor like 5 inches or whatever I need. So if any one can help me that would be great.

They make many different size jackplates. You can get manual or powered lift.
I think what you are saying is you need the engine higher due to the long shaft and be able to tilt it also. Those plates get really expensive.Do a google search for jackplates or transom brackets and you will find all kinds.

A jackplate will raise the engine but it won't tilt it! Therefore it's only use would be to compensate for the long shaft. You might be money ahead looking for a short shaft lower unit, making that swap and then fixing the tilt unit and having a much better setup in the process.

Re: HELP Jack Plate Question

There has to be a jack plate that tilts.

Not Really,.............

Most Jack Plates are used with motors that Already have Trim,+ Tilt..........

Btw,..............
Even a Free motor,...... If it doesn't fit your application,.........
Isn't much Good, Nor Free after you spent more than it's Worth to Cobble it onto a boat it Still Doesn't Fit........

Re: HELP Jack Plate Question

Jack plates are designed for optimizing performance by "raising" the motor off the transom & putting it back further, but not by "tilting / trimming" the motor out. They are also used on flats boats to aid in shallow water running as well as performance! You're not going to find one that tilts. Sorry!
