i was just wanting to un bolt the bottom bunks then lift the boat and pull them out. i was gonna put the boat in the yard but me and my dad couldnt budge the boat at all and i think its due to the last owner useing the type of carpet they used. its like a really fluffy but really thick type of carpet so i believe thats why its so hardDon't work onthe trailer with the boat hovering over it. But if you want to get the boat off the trailer, just "launch" it in the yard.
Or lower the tongue jack all the way, block up the stern, raise the jack (now the stern is off the trailer), block up the bow, lower half way. pull it out. You will need to reset your forward blocks as you move the trailer by.

really simple, jack it up from under the keel and block it either from the ground or from the trailer... You can easily remove bunks with the boat over the trailer but do not put your body between the boat and trailer. Block it so that you know the boat won't fall but treat it as if the boat WILL fall.... You likely only need to raise the boat an inch or so to get the job done.
All that said.... I'd dump the boat in the yard (as mentioned above) and be done with it... read the other recent boat off the trailer thread
Pieceocake. Don't even need a jack.
Lower the port bunk, then push the boat to port and it'll rest easy at an angle. Then remove and replace the stbd. bunk with a new one. When you install the new one, position it low. Then, just roll the boat over to stbd. and replace the port bunk. Finally, snug up both bunks such that the boat is level.
That's assuming you have keel rollers. If you don't, install them first and snug them up tight against the keel. You'll end up with a better launching trailer in the bargain!
I have 4 bunks on my trailer and they are adjutable so you just loosen the bolts and they drop away from the boat, when I am done I use a scissor jack to load them back up on the boat and move onto the next one, since you are only doing one at a time there is no danger of the boat falling on you.
And you want the fluffy carpet, don't know what lind you plan on using but keep in mind tha the boat slides on with quite alot weight so if you go with something like astro turn it can be pretty tough on the hull, scrub your hand on it a couple times, if it hurts your hand it will hurt the hull.
