I have a 2004 125 Merc 4 cylinder (2 stroke) that I just put on my boat. I am in the process of rewiring everything. Yesterday I finished hooking up the tilt trim (linked to the throttle handle) and the ignition. I tried to fire it up and all it did was spin. The motor has been hanging (not laying down) in my shed for about 6-7 months and hasn't been started. The only wire I haven't hooked up coming off of the ignition is a pink wire which I think goes to the Tachometer. Would anything else electrical from the ignition/throttle standpoint keep this motor from firing? Or could it be just because it has been dormant without being started it's being stubborn?
Thanks,
Mike
