Hi all...I don't have any pictures as of yet so I know I am asking for a lot here. I have just negotiated the purchase of a 19 foot Starcraft. It has 3 knee braces like my 1963 Jet (I think it is a Jet by what I have read on the site) 16 footer. I have no idea when it was built and have not had enough time to look around the boat to find the hull id placard. It has a rectangular windshield (well parts of it, no glass on the port side), no floor and 1 back to back red seat on an aluminum tube frame. I must admit I have never seen the aluminum tube frame for a seat before. Maybe that will help to put an approximate year of manufacture on her.
I will post some pics when I am able to get her home. The owner has no information on her as he bought her strictly for the Force 50 hp motor. Actually the last 2 owners have bought her for the motor. The first bought it for a newer 90hp 4 stroke and then sold it with the Force 50 to this guy. I am buying it with a junk trailer and the boat which seems to be in rather good condition. The inside of the hull is very clean, no corrosion that I can see, but needs a new floor. The paint is peeling like a bad case of dandruff. Looks like it was painted with an interior latex paint. I can't tell the condition of the transom yet. I will be able to tell a bit better when the motor comes off her and I can scrape the paint off. One other thing to note is that there looks to be a hatch in the bow, centered in front of the windshield. I had very little time to look at the boat when I stopped so I am not even sure it was a hatch, but it sure looked like one.
