I am looking for a 18' - 19' outbord version project starcraft. I keep coming across the 16ss, but very few in the larger sizes. I'm fairly new to the aluminum boats, so not shure of what models I could use. but I'm looking for a deeper v boat that can be converted to or is a center console. Not shure of my budget, but I am looking for a project. Kinda depends on the boat. Prefer just a solid hull and trailer.(already have an outboard)

I live in central pennsylvania, and am willing to travel a fair distance for the right boat.

Ty in advance. Just thought the word may pass around the tin comunity a little.

Check out the brochures thread, linked in my signature. Sounds like you would be happy with a Mariner, which was the CC model.

Any old Starcraft can be converted to center console, or any other layout for that matter.

What motor do you have? These boats are pretty light and plane easily.

Good luck to ya, and check the starcrafts on clist thread too.:)

Hey silver, yah you are right lots of 16's. The 18 footers are a little harder to find but they are out there, keep hunting.

Mike is right, you can turn just about any of them into a CC which is cool. It would be less work to grab a Mariner all ready to go if you could score one.

Have fun!

yup, the mariner would be great. But from looking at the pics, I think any open bow would be an easy conversion. Huron, I have a 1995 120hp johnson that has less than 50 hours on it since a full rebuild. I pulled it at the end of last season off my silverline before I sold the boat. It just needs a new home now.

Well I've very rarely seen a Mariner for sale in our area silveraire but have definitely seen a few SS's. Whereabouts are you specifically? That's a heck of a motor you've got there and would be awesome power for an 18' Starcraft. Expand your search to include other aluminum models like Smokercraft, Sea Nymph, Blue Fin, Sylvan and some others I'm probably missing.

ezmobee, I may be your neibor. lol. I'm located in long level, south of wrightsville. About a block away from lake clarke.

I have been watching for other models, but I don't know. The starcraft club is fairly exclusive and doesn't like those silly knock offs. lol. I will be keeping an eye out for the others.

p.s. found this http://baltimore.craigslist.org/boa/2411089032.html in md, going to look at it tomorrow. A little pricey to tear apart, but can sell the seats and motor for some decent coin and recoupe some of the cash.

Chad I'm outside Mount Wolf right up from the Codorus Creek and the river. My only concern on that link you posted is that boat has been for sale for years. I remember seeing it when I was looking. Don't remember the price at the time though. I think it may have been much higher.

ty for the heads up on the cl boat. I guess I will find out today. worse case I get a nice drive out of it. I have to remember to be patient. This is the first summer in a very long time with no boat and I'm going crazy. I keep seeing all these 16's online and am trying to figure out how to make them work. 16ft would work fine for the family, but a little small for the bay, and I just don't like fishing 4 out of a 16 footer.

Having had a 16 and an 18, I'll tell you, the 18 is bigger in EVERY way than the 16. Deeper, wider, and obviously longer. Much more substantial hull.

well, yesterday was a bust. The guy who listed the add was a no show. I tried to call him and the number he gave me was not a real phone number. Guess this *** has nothing better to do than waste poeples time. Wife and I had a nice drive and took a scenic route home. Not a bad day overall. Back to the drawing board I guess.
