just yesterday I bought an old outboard motor...there is no maker tag...i did find a metal tag with the numbers 636-04B and 5460688...any idea???

one more thing..it is a tecumseh motor bc its marked on the fly wheel

Looks like that is a Simpson Sears Elgin 2 with a Tecumseh engine

i was looking around ebay and found an outboard thats built almost the same. The lower units look identical besides the one on ebay looks really old. The link is http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SEAR...at_Parts_Accessories_Gear&hash=item33624bfb3b It is a sears gamefisher 3 HP.

from what i have researched online i believe it is a sears gamefisher and made by eska. Most of the powerheads were built by Tecumseh. Im not able to find the year but if you go to http://www.discount-marine-parts.com/ob_eska_sears.html they have parts for 1968-1986 models. Im sure if you contacted discount marine parts and gave them the numbers from the engine plate they could give you the year.

the engine is a V51 Tecumseh...outboard model looks like a Eska Skipper thats been painted black
