Help me to understand my fresh water holding tank

Pump has stopped working. Isn't there a pressure switch that tells the pump to shut off once there is enough water pressure inside the tank? I'm guessing maybe it's inline after the pump? How do I know whether it's the pump or the switch?

Mine shuts off once the lines are pressurized, not the tank. I would jump 12vt power directly to the pump and see if it runs, if so, it`s in the switch.

The line is pressurized not the tank. Your tank is vented to atmosphere so air exits while you fill and enters as you drain.

There should be a pressure switch right on the pump assembly itself. Make sure you have 12 vdc going to the pump, if yes you either have a bad pressure switch or motor.

I think you will have to replace the entire pump . . . or at least it would be the best thing to do . . . not sure you can buy any of the internal components. I replaced mine a couple of years ago as the motor had seized from the salt air, etc.

Since the pump may be older, you might not find the exact same model, but try to match on pressure and flow rate as best you can.
