Before I fry something or myself, can someone help wire up a simple on/off switch for LED strip lights I'm installing in my engine bay? Want to wire to the on/off switch then to my battery switch.
Here is a pic of the switch I'm using.

And a pic of my battery switch

Thanks in advance

I would see if you have a power bus first and wire through a fuse to your switch. If not wire from your battery switch through a fuse to you toggle switch and then to your lights. One of the terminals is ground for an indicator inside the switch. One side is the input and the other is the load/output. If the light is on with the switch off, you have the input/output reversed.

You can also see if you have a spare fuse in your console fuse panel and wire it from there although that is a longer run.

Use these to hook up to your switch:

Thanks for the info Bruce. Yeah I had the switch just layin around in the garage so figured I'd use it but will get a waterproof one and an inline fuse as well.
